Reflective Conversations Workshop - Working with Elders: Cultural Safety

During this workshop, we will explore what it is like for Aboriginal Elders accessing aged care services and how best to support them. We will use the Exploring Diversity & Wellness Toolkit to highlight the importance of providing safe and appropriate services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

This workshop will:

- Assist you in gaining more knowledge of the history faced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

- Demonstrate the daily challenges faced by Aboriginal Elders when accessing Aged Care Services.

- Help you consider inclusive service principles and strengthen consumer-centered care in relation to diversity, wellness and reablement.

- Provide an opportunity to self-reflect on how the Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards can be met against your own organisational structure and self-assessments, especially Standard 1: The Person.

This session is suitable for Managers, Team Leaders and Coordinators from CHSP Service Providers.
